Product Details

This stunning replica Sperm Whale Tooth is part of the collection at the Nantucket Whaling Museum.  The title of this tooth is called "Sperm Whale At Bay". It is a replica of an Antique Tooth that was originally made by William Perry now stored in the NHA Collection. The scene is of a Sperm Whale hunted by Whaling ships.  The original was etched over 100 years ago.  The reproduced tooth is currently made in our office in Fall River, MA.  The finish is made to recreate the look of an antique tooth.

This beautiful replica Sperm Whale Tooth weighs 13.51 ounces.  The dimensions are 6.86" x 2.60"x 1.99".  The item number is SP - 01.

The resin scrimshaw piece is hand etched on corian, which cuts like ivory.  We then make a mold of the original piece and do an open cast pour of our resin mixture.  The pieces are removed from the mold and sanded and inked.

We believe that serving nature is one of the commissions that we as humans have been given here on earth.  We wish to lend our resources to those charged with protecting elephants from poaching for their ivory.
